Removing the Music From ‘Rewrite the Stars’ Reduces it to a Sweaty, Acapella Workout

We knew singing while swinging on ropes wasn’t as easy as it looked.

If you’re like most of us who saw The Greatest Showman, you’re still coming down from a serious high—and still singing the soundtrack every day in the car. Well, remember that magical scene where Zac Efron and Zendaya sing Rewrite the Stars while running, jumping, falling, and swinging from ropes?

Of course, you do. Anybody in a relationship at the time wanted to do that. Only thing is, it was a lot harder than it looked. How did they manage to sing while exerting such a physical performance anyway, am I right? The reality is, it was a lot of hard work. But the film’s editors made it look so easy. How might this scene have looked if it was a little more—um, realistic?

Here it is without music. Just a sweaty, acapella performance of two people in love and out of breath. Just watch.
