Step aside Trans-Siberian Orchestra, there’s a new rockin’ Christmas medley in town. What would “Hark the Harold Angels Sing” sound like if sung by an honest-to-God sky-full of heavenly hosts? What would “O Holy Night” sound like as the score to the final battle in Lord of the Rings? Wonder no more. Movie trailer score production house Two Steps From Hell (unintentionally ironic for this particular piece) recently produced an epic seven-minute medley of popular Christmas carols. Complete with authentic Latin (as in the language of old-school Rome) lyrics sung by a massive choir, this orchestral arrangement sounds more like it belongs in a fantasy movie trailer (the type of music Two Steps is famous for), but nevertheless, it will bring you some serious Christmas cheer. Do you hear what I hear? Just listen…
The piece is also available on iTunes, for those who feel this medley is a song worth having at your fingertips even when in bad cell signal areas. (Let’s face it, sometimes you just need to hear such a song right now without waiting.) If you aren’t familiar with Two Steps, check out some of their other stuff on their YouTube channel. They make music for all the big movie trailers, so you’re likely to recognize some of their other arrangements.
Did you enjoy this medley? Share it with your friends and play it at your Christmas parties. In fact, why not synchronize this epic track to Christmas lights on their house? Merry Christmas everyone!
