Ok, try not to hijack or sidetrack the thread. If something said here makes you want to go off on a tangent, please start a new thread. These are usually fun.

You might be a "Gamer" if:

    1. You have waited in line for more than an hour for videogame or console release.

    2. You have called in sick for work to play a game that was just released, or because you were tired from being up all night waiting in line or playing a game (see #1).

    3. You have skipped school for similar reasons in #2.

    4. Every single time the power or internet goes out, you know right away.

    5. You save your console boxes.

    6. You think it's cool to do a Zelda "Quest".

Anyway, I do save most of my console and game boxes, but I don't think I've ever done any of the other ones you listed. Only thing I've skipped school for (besides vacation or being/faking sick) is to watch the NCAA Tournament.

    7. You named your pets after video game characters way back in the day (or even now)

    8. you smell

the hardcore geek gamers stink so bad. one of the reasons why i don't like going to LAN centers.

i've done 1 [ only for halo 2 ], 4 [ doesn't this apply to everyone but avid book readers?, and 5 [ i'm slightly anal about keeping my stuff in good condition, one of the add-ons to that is keeping everything ( except a few inserts and what not ) ]

    9. You can identify game themes with no problem
    10. You notice game sound effects being recycled for movies (I see this a whole lot with the Goldeneye rocket launcher sound effect)

    11. you've actually USED video game tunes in professional-quality projects for your masters film school classes.

I used the World Map tune and the Grate Guy's Casino puzzle music in certain places on my final project for sound class last quarter. And the best part about it... the teacher LOVED it. He said the music was the best part of the piece. Asked where I got it..... VIDEO GAMES!

    swwwwwwwwwwEET! :D

    12. You're still playing new game, your morning alarm is going off, and you haven't been to bed yet.

Snipes.. I have to admit I have done that, and it's the absolute worse realization ever. :( Especially when you realize you have to be at work in an hour or so.

    13. Your friends know that when you say you can't do something because you are "really busy right now," it means you have a clan match going on.

    14. you laugh at some of these lines.

    oh god...

i used to play a bunch of clan matches for DoD. the clan i was in was in CAL, UGL, and IGL. so 3 matches a week plus give or take a few clan practices. and i hated being interupted during a match. especially if i left AIM or YIM on and someone messaged me which made my screen get minimized, leaving my charcter to fend for himself for the 8 or so longest seconds ever.

...only to come back and see that you are dead.

    15. The above scenario "never happened," (of course if didn't!). You tell your teammates that you had mad lag and that "this server sucks."

    16. If the mad lag excuse doesn't work, you acuse the other team of wall-glitching.

    17. Your blocked user list on AIM consists of many good friends who simply IM'ed you at the wrong time. You know what time I speak of, for it is also in your mind. (LOTR lol)

    18. You find clever ways to incorporate cult status movie quotes in every day life conversations. (That's not just gamers though, but they fall under this rule nonetheless)
