WWE: Chris Jericho Suspended Indefinitely in Brazil | Bleacher Report
I wonder if this is a work or not. Personally, I don't think so. That said, I think the suspension is kind of ridiculous. Yes, I know, he has to respect the Brazilian flag, but like Helms was saying, he was just trying to get cheap heat, and that's a good way to do it.

Hopefully he's not suspended for to long.

I don't know if this is a work or not, either... and personally, I wonder if it isn't. Fozzy's tour isn't for another month, I think, so doing this now is not good. If the WWE publicizes this on Raw, I think it was a work. If not, then it is not a work. I believe it isn't a work though.

Y2J should be ashamed. He could have been arrested, since flag desecration is a felony in Brazil.

When I saw this headline I was so scared it was something drug related but to be honest I'm kind of relieved that it isn't.

I don't know if it's a work but if it's not then I'm okay with Jericho getting some "time off" for it but I don't think it should be that lengthy.

I'm pretty sure it's a work. Jericho is going on tour for a bit this summer, so they needed to write him off. Why put him into another feud if it won't have time to develop before his tour dates? This was an angle to get Jericho off TV for a while. They likely did it at a house show because the only people meant to see that are people who bought a ticket and know that stuff like this is part of the show and WWE doesn't mean any disrespect toward Brazil. If it was on TV, someone who has nothing better to do than protest WWE could pick up on this. Another thing is that I read a report that said the police offered him the option of apologizing to the fans or jail. If this was a real situation, I don't think the option would be given.

My only question is that given his apology on twitter, will he return as a face or heel?

Why do it this way, though? They couldn't have come up with something better? I understand doing it at a house show, that makes perfect sense, but the whole flag thing and getting escorted by the Police? That seems a bit much don't you think?

Jericho's character is more serious and a bit darker than it has been in the past so this was actually a decent way to write him off. It's not like a goofy firing where he is dragged off kicking and screaming, and it's not an injury angle. Also, with the way they did it, Jericho can come back as an apologetic face who has seen the error of his ways or he can be a bitter heel who is upset that he was suspended over something like that.

I see where you're coming from, but I still believe it's a corny way to do it, but that's just me.

Who gave him the suspension, though? Was it Johnny Ace? Board of Directors? I guess if this is a work, we'll find out when he does come back.

It's a work.

Fozzy starts touring June 6th in the UK for a week and it's already been rumored for months Jericho was taking a few months off to worry about his band, which they also have a CD due out this summer.

I also have no problem with what Jericho did.

It was an old school heel move that Jericho pulled with the Brazilian flag. A few years back this is a non-issue.

I do wonder about this because it is against the law in Brazil so if its a work they knew the backlash. Just seems weird to me.

Don't you think this is the best way to make people actually believe he's suspended? The next four months for him are going to be extremely busy where he has absolutely no time for wrestling. What's the best way of getting someone that time off? Have them do something that is illegal in a country, "suspend him indefinitely" and let him get his work done.
