I was curious to see how many people think the United States won World War II.

Most people seem to ignore the fact the the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic basically annihilated Hitler, and that was without the second front being opened, they were already driving Hitler back to Berlin by the time D-Day happened. That and they were out producing Germany by an enormous amount, I cannot remember the exactly figure but if I recall the produced some 40,000-60,000 T-34 tanks during the length of the war. Do not get me wrong, the US did win the Pacific Theater on their own, but everyone seems to consider the US the real victor of the European Theater as well, when the USSR annihilated Hitler after Stalingrad, granted they lost a lot of men, but even if the US had not invaded in Normandy they would have easily have destroyed Germany.

I say it was all a group effort, because they where all together when they won the war, and if it wasn't for the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor then the United States would not even be part of the war. So I wouldn't say it's one country that won the war, but it was a good team effort.

The United States was in the war before Pearl Harbor, shipping supplies to England and Russia, that and FDR wanted to get involved.

Ummmmmmm WRII. A subject I love so very very much. I don't know why I love it, I just do. To answer the question though I personally think the U.S was the major winning vactor in the whole war just for the simple fack when they entered the war it was an eassy win for N.A.T.O.

NATO was not even around during World War II, and you state no reasons as why America helped win the war. The USSR contributed A LOT more to the European Theater then the United States, it was basically divided, US won the war with Japan, while the USSR won the war with Germany. If you are going to post your opinion GIVE REASONS WHY!

dude im pretty sure the USSR was pissed at america because they prolonged VE .... cuz at first they went to the spain area then decided to take out germans in africa, meanwhile USSR was just ramign they're men into german forces like human bombs and suffering badly. then i think they made a come-back but still it wouldnt have ended is the US didnt come in to help, they're theones who took out the last of the germans in the germans final aassult b4 hitler surrenders ......... i believe VE was half and half with US and USSR .. then VJ was all america, so the US won 75% of the war

The Battle of the Bulge was to get Oil, if the USA did not come Hitler would have just lasted long, like I already said before USSR has greater number, better economy, was way WAY out producing Germany, and was already on there way to Berlin before the USA invaded Normandy. You REALLY need to think before you post. The USSR obviously had a different method, and they were fighting for their country, they were quite patriotic despite what "Enemy at the Gates" wants you to think.

Sorry if I was wrong about N.A.T.O (though I'm almost sure it was created in WWII). Any way you said I did not give reason for my oppion when I did. I said when the U.S entered the war was won. It's my oppion that if the U.S did not enter the war we would all be talking Germen or something like that. Plain and simple the USSR didn't have what it takes to do it on their own till the U.S.A got involved.

I know that the U.S was sending supplies, but that's not really entering a war, what I meant is that they started to send troops after the bombing of Pearl Habour. And I believe that's what made them win the war, personally like Lavoid said if U.S wouldn't have entered this war then, they would not won it.

There you go showing your ignorance yet again, the USSR WAS doing it on their own, they were ALREADY pushing Germany back to Berlin, you are completely ignoring the facts. NATO was formed AFTER World War II in order to have a means of defense against the USSR. The USA had the Pacific Theater won, the USSR would have eventually defeated Germany, considering they outnumbered, out produced, economy was greater, so stop ignoring the FACTS!
