World Junior Hockey Championship

Is anyone watching the World Juniors games this year? I caught the tail ends of the first two and the second half of the Finland-Czechs game. The latter was pretty excellent entertainment for a neutral fan.

Canada is playing Russia right now. I thought the Russian goal was weak, and so far Canada deserves better than a tie.

I've noticed a lot of really tenacious and highly skilled stick checking by the better Juniors teams, same as by some NHL teams. Instead of always just mashing an opponent into the boards, players are using their sticks to win, keep and regain puck possession. The body positioning of today's juniors with the puck is also better than I've seen it in past years.

Goaltending will be a weak point on this team. Don't really have that much confidence in Hart.

Strome had a great game last night, and he will need to keep this up if they team is going to medal. Also, Roy goal was a thing of beauty.

I'm a big fan of this tournament, and I watch it every year.

Also excited to watch the 16-year-old Swedish phenom.
