Winter's Last Stand

I decided to write this since it's the second day of spring and I'm having a blizzard up here.

Winter's Last Stand

The first day of spring hath come
But winter show no backing down
it roars once more before its fall
It clings to the throne of the earth crown

The wind runs across the land
it brings the gray hands, to block the sun
the trees bend to its might
and all blue sky is out of sight

The sky opens to let forth the storm
and out comes the stars
they lightly fall to the ground
the fierce winds, they alarm

The land's color gone
it is an old movie
for the sky has whited it out
For this was winter's final bout

Rhyming poem and wonderful use of words. Great comparison of winter being a king. I loved it.
