Hello! :) , am a 20 year old girl , my partner is 40+, she is refusing to buy me drinks in public fearing she would get in troubles even though am an adult myself, so i was wondering why would she get in troubles and not me ? and if so what kind of troubles? since i passed 18 and therefore legally an adult .
    thanks ;)

    Drinking age.

Legally have to be 21 in the US to drink and purchase alcohol.

Your 20, not 21, you can't legally drink. But, go ahead and talk to your partner about it. She may change her mind. But if you get busted, don't cry about it.

    Is this person for real?

Anyways, you have to be 21 to drink. If she is caught buying the drinks FOR you, she is contributing to breaking the law.

I have a feeling that you are not 20. Or at least not from the US.

Yeah you have to be 21 to legally drink in the U.S., I'd probably be worried about buying you drinks too.

You don't have to be 21 to drink and purchase alcohol legally, well not in Australia.

    Oh, the irony.

Question has been answered. I doubt it was a serious question, but yes, the drinking age is 21. Thread closed.
