i'm becoming more and more anxious on this topic of whether or not the president is a natural born citizen of the U.S. or not? from what i can gather from google searches and random news articles is nothing short of mixed conversations on why it even matters? there's those who say his 'certificate of live birth' should suffice, along with a grainy image of a news-paper clipping. and then there's those who say that's not enough...they want to see the birth certificate itself. the weird thing is, from this seemingly silly tabacle...a snowball seems to be gathering. those who are on the side of the president being a legitimate natural born citizen are on the defensive...making it an argument of race, propaganda, or simply nothing more then 'birthers' ranting. and for those bent on the idea that the president is an illegal citizen, they are gaining volume. and that's where i'm stuck...why not? why not just show the darn thing? silence the whole conversation so easily it seems. although maybe thats just it? he can't? i think it would be pretty wild to wake up tomorrow, turn on the tube and see our 'former' president getting escorted out of the white house?!? we already made history with his skin tone, now maybe with him being the first to sneak in the back door too? oooh.weee! that's some weird stuff. would we go to biden?...can't he's apart of his cabinet. have a new election? regardless, seems it be a decent size dent in the trust factor of the people with the government.../sigh GBA

What is Obama hiding? Why doesn't the "press" dig this stuff up? College transcripts, thesis, birth certificate, etc, etc?

    It really makes me wonder!

Are you really that shallow that you think your first black President is an illegal? Don't you think there would have been a background check while he was running for President?

Yes, he's black. Yes, his middle name is Hussain; but he's the man in charge now - deal with it and stop making such ridiculous accusations.

Just another conspiracy in a desperate attempt to keep the US Presidency a whites only seat made by those who are stuck in the 1950's. Some people will continue to interrogate this theory even when evidence to the contrary is provided and its just another examlpe where people are threatened by change.

This has nothing to do with his ethnicity or race, to think so is ridiculous. The Democratic party asked the same thing from McCain and he produced it.

To enlist in the arms services you have to produce much more documentation than he has produced as president. To kill all this ALL he has to do is produce it. I don't see what the problem is.

I haven't seen any evidence to the contrary, I haven't seen any evidence of where he was born at all.

Not true, the democratic party asked McCain to produce it long before Obama was a serious contender, back when it looked like Hillary was going to win it. Their concern was he wasn't a natural born citizen because he spent so much time overseas coming from a military family. And he produced it.

Many experts have said that certificate is fake. Not done by Obama, mind you, but by someone who just wanted to whole thing to go away.

I don't consider it libelous and ludicrous to produce evidence that you are able to prove that you are Constitutionally able to hold the office, just like I don't consider it libelous and ludicrous to produce my social security card when applying for a job.

Oh no. I found a picture of Obama being taught secret Muslim-terrorist fence-jumping tactics by his mom in what I'm pretty sure must be Kenya (which is known for its well-kept lawns and hedges).

I cant remember the timeline of events, the whole campaign by all parties was a heated shit throwing mess...... but I do know that 2 years on people still cant accept his presidency. Its only been 40 years since the civil rights movement and there are many people who continue to dispute his legitimacy up unitl and after he leaves office. The type of people who you can show them a certificate and they would cry "fake", you could build a time-machine fly them back to Honolulu '61 and they still would not believe it.

....even when you provide it and its deemed a fake by "experts"? ....if it were fake and experts verify its illegitimacy do you realy think he would be in office? If your SS# were fake and your company knew that would you still have a job?

Here is the source of contention:

The document is a "certification of birth," also known as a short-form birth certificate. The long form is drawn up by the hospital and includes additional information such as birth weight and parents' hometowns. The short form is printed by the state and draws from a database with fewer details. The Hawaii Department of Health's birth record request form does not give the option to request a photocopy of your long-form birth certificate, but their short form has enough information to be acceptable to the State Department. We tried to ask the Hawaii DOH why they only offer the short form, among other questions, but they have not given a response.

Just because you expect the president to release documents that have been traditionally released does not make you a racist.
