Ben Wallace won DPOY yet again, making it his fourth in five years (a NBA first) and becoming only the second player to have ever won four (the other being Mutombo).

How would you rate Ben Wallace amongst the best defensive players in the history of the NBA? Is Ben the beneficiary of Ron Artest's stupidty?

i think Ben is definitely among the greats. Dennis rodman, Gary payton and so on. Ron artest is also in that category, but i think a center has the advantage to win because he is the powerhouse, and thats what people like. everyone wants to see shots thrown in the 10th row. unfortunately good perimeter "D" and steals do not have the same impact on the voters as blocked shots and rebounds.

I would put him there in the elite top 10 of all time I would say, that's pretty amazing that he's one four times in five years, and I am sure he's going to win a few more in the years to come, the guy is just a monster on the defensive side.
