An oldie classic- 'Live every day as if it were your last'. But then, if we did that, hell none of us would ever get anything done, because we'd be too busy goofing off because we'd be thinking it was our last day, so fuck it all, why work!
I like the comical: Do Unto Others, Then Split.
I came back, I wanted to add, I really really loathe the one that goes something like- Don't Cry Because It's Over, Smile Because It Happened. I'd like to slap somebody upside their head for that one.
I don't have a motto, but if I did, it would be something about staying optimistic and positive. Even though I usually prepare for and expect the worse, I always try to make the best out of a bad situation or negative thought.
Simple example -- instead of disliking something, I appreciate that I even have it or it isn't any worse.

I like this one, not because it's something I live by, but because it's something I always seem to forget. For some reason I tend to think everyone has it all worked out and I'm totally clueless, but in reality we're all just winging it.
