What is your vote worth to you?

If somebody came up to you on the street and said "I'll give you X dollars if you vote for (insert the major candidate you don't want to win here)", would you accept if the price was high enough?

What would that price have to be in order for you to essentially sell out and vote for a candidate you absolutely didn't support for whatever reasons?

Gee... that's kind of a loaded question. Personally I'd take a lot like a few grand, then still vote for my candidate

It's not like they can go in the booth with me.

Let's say they had a way to confirm your vote.

Ok I'm a firm believer of anyone will sell their soul if the price is right.

It'd take quite a bit for me to vote Obama... I'd take enough for me to go afterwards and load myself up on all the guns he'd try to ban :)

I see what you're getting at here, Hybrix. Tell you what, give me $50,107 (the $107 is for a passport in case he actually wins) and I'll pull the lever for Grandpa Johnny. Fifty large should be enough to help me forget that I prostituted my vote.

But really, this is a seriously desperate and unnecessary move on your part. Why don't you just keep the money, comrade, and wait to see how things turn out under our new one-party Marxist-Socialist system?

i dunno, there would have to be billions tax free for me to vote for McCain. That's the only way I'd know I'd have money to live off of when he got into office.

Haha Tucker. I'm not offering to buy votes.... I'm just curious because it should make for an interesting thread. :D

I'm not sure, but it probably wouldn't take a huge amount. One vote isn't going to make any difference. I'd probably do it for a hundred bucks.

I wouldn't unless I already had plans to leave the country, which I don't.

    Yet.

If I lived in FL, there would be no amount of money. Living in Alaska, where McCain is projected to win by 35 points, I'd do it for $250 and a 6 pack of cola. I assume my fellow citizens are a lot more expensive than I am therefore it would take billions to actually turn the tide in AK.
