Vrabel expected to retire, join Ohio State coaching staff

John Taylor of CollegeFootballTalk.com is reporting that Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel will be retiring from the NFL and joining the coaching staff at his alma mater, Ohio State University.

"Two university sources have told CFT that, while it's not a done deal, 'there's a very good chance' former [Vrabel] will fill the vacancy on the defensive side of the ball," Taylor writes. "One source stated that an announcement could be made as early as this coming Monday.

"The move, were it to happen, wouldn't come as a complete surprise as Vrabel and [Ohio State head coach Luke] Fickell are longtime friends after being teammates -- and roommates -- at OSU in the mid-nineties."
He's one of those players that I could definitely see as a coach. I think he'd be a great coach and an even better motivator.
