After reading this in newspapers, just now, I decided to post it here. This is some freaky stuff, and yet, unbelieveable

    The duck would not die.

Wildlife officials said the feathered Lazarus had been shot by a hunter and put into his refrigerator for two days. That's when the hunter's wife opened the door and the duck lifted his head, giving her a scare.

The man's wife "was going to check on the refrigerator because it hadn't been working right and when she opened the door, it looked up at her," said Laina Whipple, a receptionist at Killearn Animal Hospital.

"She freaked out and told the daughter to take it to the hospital right then and there."

The hospital's staff had the daughter take the 450-gram female ring-neck to Goose Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, where it has been treated since Tuesday for wounds to its wing and leg.

Sanctuary veterinarian David Hale said it has about a 75-per-cent chance of survival but probably will not ever be well enough to be released back into the wild.

He said the duck, which has a low metabolism, could have survived in a big enough refrigerator, especially if the door was opened and closed several times.

That...is one Mighty Duck. To think after it got shot and was dumped in a fridge, it would live! Now it would be fun if a deer didn't die and it decided to fight back the hunter who shot it lol

Oh yeah, I've heard of this story before. As amazing as it sounds it's possible. It all depends on what the duck was shot with and where on it's body.

For the fridge. Ducks are used to the cold from being the the water most of their lives, and the cold would also help the wound from the gunshot heal.

If what you say is true, then that duck is king/queen of all ducks. Seriously though where is the prove? I understand you read this in a news paper, but I'm sure there is an article about it some where.

That's pretty cool unless it happens to me. It was probably somewhat preserved in the fridge.

Eh, just proves the guy's a lousy hunter. Glad the duck's okay, I really like that particular animal (even if they are delcioius and crispy).

Honestly, I am as well. I do hate ducks. They used to chase me when I was younger. >.< But sometimes they can be cute...
