I actually liked Passion of the Christ, it was somewhat graphic, and a little controversial, but personally I think it was a good movie and pretty informative. I'm not saying that's what really happened during Jesus Christ final days.

But all and all it was a good movie I'm glad I watched it.

I did. My husband and I took our two boys. Our church rented out the theater for a week and gave all the tickets out ahead of time and as people came up to the theater.

When it was over, there was the loudest silence I've ever heard in my life. The theater was packed full and no one moved for several minutes.

I don't see how this was such a big deal. If you've read the bible or just know the story, this should come as no surprise to you.

well the fact that, that faggot gibson exagerated the gore of what actually happended.. it offended some hardcore christians. The only reason i wouldn't watch this movie again.. and again, is the language. who the fuck speaks hebrew?!

if anyone saw it, they'll know that you can't loose that much blood and still be alive, let alone consious.. unless that was a supposed miracle, but in the bible it never stated that Jesus had unlimited blood during his walk to the mountain of the cross

Well padd the dialog wasn't in English because Mel wanted it to be in the language used at the time. And more specifically the language in the movie was Aramaic, not Hebrew.

As for the R rating and violence, from what I've heard it would have been even worse in real life. The ancient Romans were very skilled/barbaric at the "arts" of torture and death.

I always thought it was assumed. :-/

    Is that a good thing?

I haven't seen it, though I've heard it's just torture porn with Jesus. Someone had to make just such a movie, I suppose.

Compared to what actually happened, the movie is a kid's movie. I won't go into detail, but it was pretty brutal. I haven't yet seen the movie, but I've seen enough commercials, and snippets here and there to know how graphic it isn't. Also, this is one of those cases where the book is better than the movie =P

How do you know he exaggerated anything in it? Were you around during those times?

And as for the lack of blood thing, if you believe that mythology, then you'd believe that not only is he the son of god, but he is god, aswell. And as being god, he can basically do whatever he wants. But I'm pretty sure that the bible says that he had a crown of thorns and was put through hell on earth in his final days. Which that movie seems to have made a good point of showing.
