Pitching matchup NYM: LHP Tom Glavine (5-2, 2.19 ERA) Helped by 7.59 strikeouts per nine innings (his best mark since 1994), Glavine has crafted a 2.19 ERA, currently fourth in the National League. Since last July 31, Glavine has formulated a NL-best 2.11 ERA in 136 2/3 innings. He hasn't faced the Redbirds in 2006. STL: RHP Jeff Suppan (4-2, 4.27 ERA) Effectively mixing a fastball, curve and slider, Suppan struck out seven batters in five innings against the Rockies in his last start. He lost two of his first three starts before rebounding with four straight victories. Player to watch Scott Rolen is batting .360 (18-for-50) with two homers and seven RBIs against Glavine. Helped by 14 walks, Rolen has a .500 on-base percentage.
