Okay here's my preview of today's game 1. Pitching matchup STL: RHP Jeff Weaver (1-2, 8.68 ERA) It's been a rough go for Weaver since being traded from the Angels. He's yet to last six innings in a St. Louis uniform, and he has allowed fewer than four runs only once. The pressure may be on him, as Mark Mulder makes his way back to active duty. Someone will have to be bumped when Mulder returns to the rotation, and Weaver has not built the best case thus far. CIN: RHP Elizardo Ramirez (4-7, 4.47 ERA) Ramirez followed his superb start in Milwaukee with a poor outing in his last start, on Wednesday against the Dodgers. The right-hander retired the first seven hitters he faced, but he ran into trouble in the third. He allowed six straight Dodgers to reach on two walks and four hits, and he surrendered four earned runs in the inning. Ramirez was lifted with two outs in the fifth in a game the Reds lost, 5-3. He has made a start against every other NL Central opponent -- Monday will be his first career appearance against St. Louis. Player to watch Ronnie Belliard is 3-for-6 against Ramirez in his career.
