The Cressida Project

I figured I would put this here. Anyways, me and my friend Jesse recently purchased a 1986 Toyota Cressida to turn into a drift car. We are putting in a Lexuz 1uzfe V-8 all aluminum quad cam engine. Hoping for around 300rwhp at first, then upgrading. We are documenting this as a budget build up. We have a sponsor though who is giving us a discount on the engine and transmission. Anway, here are some updates that have occured over the past month or so:

First up, the engine. Of course, this engine is going bye-bye, but it still deserves pictures. Have to use a stick (in our case a piece of hardwood floor) to prop up the hood. The stick came with the car though so that's a plus

The emblem, which I think is bad-ass looking:

Ok, half way through, imageshack decided to start being gay, so I had to use something else to upload them with:

Jesse went down to a Toyota place and snagged a lip spoiler for the Cressida. Well, he actually took the whole trunk, but that works. It's all getting repainted anyway. And now we have a spare trunk :D

It has been cleaned since these pictures lol.

Now the Cressida is ready to be torn apart with no mercy. She will eat your children in their sleep. Beware, the Cressy.

Most of the sound deadening was triple layered. Jesse heard from a friend though that dry ice helps with getting out sound deadening. So, we looked for places that sold dry ice and finally found one that was open. Capitol Grill And Dry Ice. Yep, it's a hotdog shack that sells dry ice. wtf. Also, it's in the ghetto. Well, me and Jesse are pretty white, but we figured what the hell, let's do this. We go in, and there is a crazy lady that runs the place. We get prices, but realize we didn't have a cooler. Went to Food Lion, got a cooler, went back. We bought 25lbs for $35. Had to ride back with the windows down, but it. wasn't so bad cause it was around 50 degrees outside.

Anyways, what you do is put the dry ice on the sound deadening and spread it around.

We let it sit for about half an hour. Then what you do is grab a hammer, and just hit the sound deadening and it comes up really easy.

Triple layer FTL!

Next weekend we are going to pick up a surprise and hopefully the Cressida will like it :)

I had to do this as two posts because it kept messing up as one huge post.
