    Alright Folks,
I play bass guitar in a Pub band (so I can earn beer money and dont have to do overtime in my job for a hobby I absolutely love doing) Called The lock In. we play around a few local pubs and do have a set list but is only around 3 hours long, and the pubs are asking us to start earlier and earlier.

So the band is having to do more songs... do get an idea what we do this would look like a typical set list... we try to get a good mix of golden oldies and some fairly new stuff that is out.

    1st half

    The Chain (fleetwood Mac)
    Summer of 69 (Bryan Adams)
    Buck Rodgers (Feeder)
    Thousand Trees (stereophonics)
    Yellow (coldplay)
    Creep (radiohead)
    losing my Religion (R.E.M)
    Run to you (Bryan adams)
heavyweight champion (Reverend and the makers)
    One I love (R.E.M)
    Wicked game (Chris Issac)
    Thats entertainment (The Jam)
    Live forever (oasis)
    hotel California (Eagles)
    Message in a bottle (Police)

(break to go for a few pints, mingle with the crowd and see if there is any women up for the pull)

    2nd half

    Helter skelter (Beatles)
    teenage kicks (Undertones)
    Save tonight (eagle eye cherry)
    With or without you (U2)
    Local boy (stereophonics)
    White wedding (billy idol)
Sex on fire (kings of leon)
    Dakota (stereophonics)
    Run to you (Bryan adams)
    new years day (U2)
    I'm a believer (Monkeys)
    Brown eye Girl (Van morrison)
    Maggie May (Rod Stewart)
Time of your life (Green day)
Stand by me ( Ben E King)
    500 miles (proclaimers)
    Mr Brightside (Killers)
I predict a Riot (Kaiser chiefs)

If you were in Pub and a live band is playing would you go up and request to be played?

To be honest i listen to ANYTHING when i'm out drinking. i mean, i even like the killers when i'm drunk. Which i always feel ashamed about after i sober up :p

So i won't suggest anything because it'd go on forever, but i'll pick out the songs that i'd LOVE to hear while drinkin out of your current setlist:

    The Chain (fleetwood Mac)
    Run to you (Bryan adams)
    Thats entertainment (The Jam)
    Live forever (oasis)
    hotel California (Eagles)
    Helter skelter (Beatles)
    teenage kicks (Undertones)
    I'm a believer (Monkeys)
    Maggie May (Rod Stewart)
Stand by me ( Ben E King)
    500 miles (proclaimers)

They're all great drinking songs that i don't usually hear bar bands playing, at least not round here. So stick with those ones even if you take on some more songs!!! :D

(incidentally, love to see a youtube vid of you guys. You should get someone to film your next gig! :))

edit: actually, what the hell! a few off the top of my head...

Superstition or I Wish - Stevie Wonder
No One Knows - Queens of The Stone Age
Stone Cold Crazy or Don't Stop Me Now - Queen
    1999 or Kiss - Prince
    Alive - Pearl Jam
I Love To Boogie or Ride a White Swan - T. Rex
    Lola - The Kinks
Call Me or Atomic - Blondie
Dreaming of You - The Coral
Bang Bang You're Dead -Dirty Pretty Things
Blue Suede Shoes or Jailhouse Rock - Elvis
    Foxy Lady - Jimi Hendrix
American Girl or Don't Do Me Like That - Tom Petty

Sorry that went on for longer than expected :p Hey Jude is always a great song to finish on aswell. Nice singalong to end the night!

    That's a great list!

If I have to make some requests, it depends if there's a theme for the night. Based on the list you have, I'm inclined to ask if you can play some oldies stuff from Nirvana or even Guns N Roses. Oh and more Green Day please..
