    How many of these sportsmen are you familiar with? Would you really consider them a "legend" (not necessarily the best) in that field?

    I know a lot of them I'm surprised that Joe Montana isn't on the list, to me he's the greatest football player to ever play.

    If Hagler is on the list for boxing why isn't Ali on there.

    I don't really understand the concept of this list.

    list fail. there's not a single hockey player on there. I've never heard of half of those people. and windsurfing? wtf?

    I agree guys like Beliveau, Howe and many others should be on this list, but it does state that there's only football, tennis, athletics, skateboarding and motor racing that might be the reason why there's not any on there.

    But it does say that Michael Jordan was an old member on this list.

    Can you explain this list a bit more Ysabel? I don't understand how someone makes it onto this list. Like why is there no golf players, baseball players or hockey players?

    I have no idea how they're chosen. Maybe it's invitational but the sportsplayer has the right to refuse or so...

    I think the academy itself doesn't want to focus on them being the elite group, but that they're a group who all happen to be big sports people, working together for a cause. :hmm:

    Maybe you'll understand more than I did, here:

    Seve Ballesteros, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player are on it. It is a weird list though. Not sure how they came up with it.

    * Sergey Bubka (Soviet Union/Ukraine) - athletics
    * Bobby Charlton (England) - football

    * Cathy Freeman * (Australia) - athletics

    They are the only ones I have heard of, most of them are legends of the teams I support, as for Michael Johnson and Sergey Bubka, I don't watch athletics, but there are posters in the P.E room about them, so yeah. You don't need to watch Athletics to know who Cathy Freeman is.
