I'm just starting to look into this, but I really don't know if it would even be cost effective. Does anyone know any more about it?

I think it's a good idea. The problem is it is expensive right now. You'd need to spend upwards of 50k just to have the right amount of solar panels put on your house to keep it powered for a day. Currently the only things that are cheap AND pull the BTU's are nuclear, coal and oil.

Am I for it? Yes. Should it be mandated by the government? No.

Our goverment supports it and includes a rebate so you can get some money back when you get solar power for your house, I think its a great idea.
