Are you clicking the smilees from the new post page? Or are you typing them yourself?

That's because it needs to have a - in the middle. :-/

Like: : - / but without the spaces.

What happens when you click them? I haven't heard anybody else having this issue. Do they just not show up at all or can you just not click them.
