SACRAMENTO, Calif. – As the smoke cleared on an explosive SmackDown main event of retribution, Vickie Guerrero was summarily fired as SmackDown’s Official Consultant.

World Heavyweight Champion Edge & Kelly Kelly def. Drew McIntyre & Vickie Guerrero (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Vickie Guerrero took part in the second SmackDown Mixed Tag Team Match in three weeks, knowing that if she and her partner Drew McIntyre lost, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long would fire her as the show's Official Consultant.

When Vickie stood in Edge’s way as he was about to Spear McIntyre in the climatic moments of the match, Kelly Kelly took her down with The Master Manipulator’s signature maneuver. The Ultimate Opportunist then followed suit, Spearing the "Chosen One" to seal his ex-wife’s fate.
After a jubilant Teddy Long fired his Official Consultant, an hysterical Vickie pledged with everyone she could to keep her job, including Edge himself.

This prompted the 11-time World Champion to lead the WWE Universe in another rendition of “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.” However, as The Rated-R Superstar watched Vickie walk off in disgrace, his WrestleMania No. 1 contender Alberto Del Rio attacked him, locking him in his vicious cross armbreaker. Big Show def. Wade Barrett by Count-out (WATCH | PHOTOS)
With The Corre banned from ringside – by order of SmackDown GM Theodore Long – Big Show went one-on-one with Wade Barrett. Though Barrett launched an impressive offense against The World’s Largest Athlete, the giant roared back, leaving his war-torn opponent outside the ring to pick up the victory by count-out. When The Corre reemerged after the match, Big Show blasted WWE Tag Team Champion Justin Gabriel with a steel chair and sent the intimidating faction fleeing from the ring.

Jack Swagger def. Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston in a Non-title Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Despite being advised by doctors not to compete – just five days after his brutal WWE Elimination Chamber match with Alberto Del Rio (PHOTOS) – Kofi Kingston insisted on competing against Jack Swagger. In spite of a valiant effort by Kofi, The All-American American made the high-octane Superstar tap out with his dreaded ankle lock.

Rosa Mendes def. Layla by Disqualification (WATCH | PHOTOS)
While Michelle McCool was seated at the announce table, Rosa Mendes knocked her out of her chair, raising the wrath of the flawless Diva. Michelle attacked Rosa, causing her partner-in-flawless to lose by disqualification. Although Layla and Michelle walked out together, the circumstances surrounding the English-born Diva’s defeat brought noticeable friction between Team Lay-Cool.

Rey Mysterio def. Kane (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After suffering the full force of Kane’s sadistic brutality, Rey Mysterio charged back to dial-up the 619 on his frightening foe. The Devil’s Favorite Demon hauled the masked Superstar’s follow-up attack, catching his prey in mid-air. But, before he could capitalize, Mysterio used his incredible athletic prowess to drop The Big Red Monster to the canvas for the quick pin.

After the match, WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes made a surprise journey to the ring, apologizing to Mysterio for his son Cody Rhodes’ poor attitude and for his statements blaming the masked Superstar for his injury. When he pushed Cody to apologize as well, the younger Rhodes shook his adversary’s hand. However, seconds later, while the senior Rhodes was shaking The Ultimate Underdog’s hand, his son attacked, making it clear that the Rhodes family had been scheming together for revenge. The once-“Dashing” Superstar proceeded to deliver a devastating assault on The Master of the 619 and ripped off his mask off. (WATCH)

I thought it was a sub-par show...

The Rhodes/Mysterio was very well done but there's wasn't much else that I loved. I do hope Swagger's win over Kingston gets him an IC title shot and I did enjoy Edge dancing haha

Totally agree, after a PPV I expect a huge show...especially on the Road to WM. It was so mild.

I really enjoyed the Rhodes thing, though. Probably the highlight of the show for me. He really needs to get over Mysterio through all of this, and I think that he will.

I'd definitely be good with Jack vs. Kingston at WM for the IC title, personally. They've been putting on exceptional matches for months on SD.

No appearance by Christian (a) was a huge letdown, and (b) didn't make any sense at all.

I agree. Rhodes is improving extremely well with his promos and his wrestling and Rey should put him over at WM if they face each other at the big event. Rey is on the way out, and Rhodes is growing to something huge. Give him a year, and he could be a potential headliner on SD. He would be lost on Raw.

I agree again. Swagger/Kofi would be an exceptional filler match, and I think Swagger should take it and maybe feud with another face that isn't Kofi. Maybe this is when you debut Sin Cara?

I actually think it makes total sense. Christian is 3 weeks or so from being medically cleared to wrestle, so his non-show makes sense given his scenario. We may see him at WM this year, but NOT (most likely) in a wrestling capacity. Maybe an enforcer for the WHC match (possible heel turn scenario?)

(1) I also wanted to add that having Dusty involved will really help The Dashing One's push...and do you mean that Cody wouldn't do well on Raw? Why is that? Personally I think if someone reaches main event status, they can do it anywhere.

(2) I know you don't like Kofi, really, but shouldn't the IC Title be defended? There have been some great matches for it at WM, and they should start aiming for that again.

(3) Fans know mostly that he's not cleared to wrestle, but if he's going to have that appearance as an enforcer or in Edge's corner (and I'm really, really hoping for a heel turn scenario myself) then he should be settling himself into the feud more. Just because he can't wrestle doesn't mean he can't be on the show, that's never been an issue with other wrestlers.

He'd be lost in the shuffle. Given Miz and Punk as the big level heels there, I see no reason to shuttle him off to Raw. Plus his character as DASHING should stay on SD for a while. I like it better there, dunno why.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be defended at WM, I am just saying Kofi should lose it at WM. For Kofi to get the push that the rest of the WWE Universe thinks he deserves, he needs to lose the IC title. Enough said.

So what. He has a no-show. There are 35 days until WM. 5 Mondays and 5 Fridays left until the big event. That is PLENTY of time to introduce Christian to a storyline. PLENTY of time.
