Sand everywhere!

~Lucky 13 strikes again~
Hi all.

I recently got the chance to try this, and let me tell ya it's a blast!

The only thing I didn't like was eating sand when you wiped out..

Oh and you can get sand rash! Worse than road rash..

But all in all it was a blast, and I would say that you try it atleast once!

I am curious because to be honest I have never heard of sand surfing. I cannot seem to picture in my mind how it would actually be done? That being said I would imagine that you can get some pretty good roadrashes if you wipe out.

I did a quick Google search - that looks like mad fun! Not a whole lot of dunes here in Ohio, though.

I will have to search this also. I have seen some big dunes out in the California desert. Is this where they do this sport? I will have to check into it. I am really curious how it is done.

Hi ya..Andrew that is a funny pic..That's gonna hurt in the morning.

I used an old snowboard that I picked up at a pawn shop cheap.

I go to Glamis, CA once ot twice a year to play with my sandrail and to surf the sand.

Man you can get wicked sand rash..Then the next two weeks you are still cleaning sand out of your gear.
I will post some pics as soon as I find them. I might have a few videos too.

My office is bombed right now. I can't find crap. I think the time people took them..
Here are some clips that I found on Youtube :

YouTube - Extreme wipeout sand boarding in Namibia

YouTube - Sandboarding

YouTube - Sandboarding in Huacachina Peru

Thanks so much for the pictures and clips. That actually looks like a lot of fun. I would have never thought about doing something like this.
