MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Miami Heat are expected to have their
coach back for the stretch run of the season, according to a
report on a newspaper's web site.

The Sun-Sentinel of Fort Lauderdale, citing sources, reported on
Monday that Riley is expected to resume his duties as coach of
the defending NBA champions after the All-Star break.

According to the report, interim coach Ron Rothstein will direct
Tuesday night's home game against the Portland Trail Blazer.
Riley then will announce his return in a news conference on
Wednesday and will resume his coaching duties next Monday.

Riley, who also serves as team president, announced on January 3
that he was taking an indefinite leave of absence to undergo
knee surgery and hip replacement.

Miami was 13-17 under Riley and has gone 12-9 with Rothstein as

Rothstein told the Sun-Sentinel that Riley has been involved in
the direction of the club since his departure but declined to
speculate on when Riley will return.

The Heat (25-26) have been a disappointment, largely because of
injuries to superstars Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade. They
are eighth in the Eastern Conference, one-half game ahead of New
Jersey for the final playoff spot.

I think that once Rilery returns, the Heat will win more games. I'm not saying that Rothstein is a bad coach because he's just the opposite but a big part of the Heat is in Coach Riley. He is their motivator and their main play caller. With Shaq and Wade together again and Riley returning, the Heat should return to their winning ways.

Aw, Here It Goes!
This is what we need are HOF coach back in control of the team we are finnaly gelling together and playing like a great team. With Pat back on the bench I believe the Heat will really get going.
