If you've seen the movie or read about it in history books, you'll know what I mean. Actually, this wasn't even worth mentioning in our history class.

In that case, if none of you know who Guy Fawkes is, then you can't do anything for November 5th.

Ah, but ours is because a group of people plotted to kill King James I, his family, and most of the aristocracy. We set off fireworks, and burn scarecrows, named Guys.

Cinco De Mayo, according to Wikipedia, "commemorates an initial victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862". That involves drinking, eating and dancing.

I don't see a similarity.

The similarity is us commemorating other nation's dates, mainly to get drunk. It's kind of our thing.
