An intranet can be considered as a "private version of the internet" within a company.

An extranet can be considered a "private intranet over the internet".

A LAN is an acronym for Local Area Network. A LAN is a collection of 2 or more computers that are all connected together through a switch, hub, router or directly.

    Hope this helps

Intranet is generally seen in a larege company which can be used by their employee only.
