Pro Wrestling "IF" Thread

I have a relatively simple and fun idea for an ongoing thread that we could do here in the GF Wrestling section.

Basically, we can explore the "What Ifs" if Wrestling here. One person will come up with an question (phrased with IF, of course!), about something that has happened or could happen in wrestling. The next poster makes up his/her reply, and in the same post comes up with our next "IF" question. Any past/present wrestlers and wrestling organizations are free game. Some examples are below (feel free to use them):

--If the Undertaker would have lost his Wrestlemania streak, which one of his past opponents do you feel would have been worthy of this achievement?

--If "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles was in the current WWE roster, how would you book him regarding feuds, titles, etc.?

--If John Cena's current injury puts him on the shelf past Wrestlemania, with whom should CM Punk feud?

==========================
Have fun, and get creative!

Since my current avatar/sig show that I'm pretty stoked about the current angle involving CM Punk as Leader of the Nexus, our first official question will be:

If another current WWE Superstar would have taken over leadership of the Nexus besides CM Punk, who would you have picked and why?

John Cena is the obvious choice, It would be amazing to see him as the leader of the most hated stable of 2010. I think the WWE should of pulled the trigger but they were to afraid to do so. Now It's definitely to late to do so, they'll have to find another way to turn him heel.

Here's mine:

What if Sting signed with the WWE in 2001, what type of career would of he would have in the WWE?

Out of all his opponents that he had at Mania I don't think that any of them deserved to beat the Phenom. Some people may argue that Shawn Michaels should of won, but I wouldn't of wanted to see that, that man is already a legend.

I honestly think he would of been used pretty badly, yes we could of seen Undertaker vs Sting at Mania, but after that, his career would go downhill with the WWE just like every other former WCW star that entered the WWE. I can't imagine Sting in the WWE.

What if the WWE never bought out WCW, how would the wrestling landscape look like now?

Assuming that in this scenario WCW's management/financial issues would have improved, I think that we would have seen waxing and waning competition between the companies over parts of the last decade. There are a few times (I think in the mid 2000s, maybe?) that WWE was kind of so so and that another company with strong resources behind it could have really competed. I also think that the talent landscape would be much different. The WWE probably wouldn't have had a reason to keep the brand extension around, which (maybe) could have led to some more meaningful feuds in the absence of a large amount of titles. Despite this, I still think that WWE would still have been the top company around, even if WCW would have peaked at a couple of times during a reinvigorated Monday Night War.

If the WWE were to bring in another title for lower/mid card wrestlers, what title would it be? Who would be the major competitors in that titles' scene? When/where would it be defended?

I would bring back the European Championship. My first thought was the Cruiserweight, but I wanted to make it more realistic and there's a lot more wrestlers out there that could contend for the European Championship. Here are some of the guys that I would put in this division.

-Zack Ryder
-Justin Gabriel
-Tyson Kidd
-Yoshi Tatsu
-Goldust
-Chavo Guerrero
-Joey Mercury
-Trent Barreta
-Tyler Reks

I would have these guys go at, one on one every Monday Night Raw so they get a chance to showcase their talent. The title would be defended every Pay Per Views. My Champion for the belt at the moment would be Goldust(I know he's injured).

What if Bret Hart never got screwed?

I think that he would have just stayed with the WWE and continued in the main event, winning WWE championships, etc. until he physically couldn't wrestle anymore.

If you could give a wrestler (let's do one in TNA and one in WWE) a new gimmick, who would it be and what would the new gimmick be like?

The reason why Bret Hart got screwed was because he already signed with WCW and Vince was afraid that Bret was not going to do the right thing and give up the title the next night on Raw, and of course there was a dispute of who was going to win at Survivor Series of who was going to win and Bret obvisouly didn't want to lose in Canada. So regardless if he got screwed or not he was heading to WCW. There would of been a lapse in his WWE career regardless. But I do agree he would of come back to the WWE until his body could not take it anymore because WCW did not know how to use him and he would of left.

Bret wanted a long term contract, and at first Vince was a bit hesistant to sign him that long. After a while he decided to give him that contract, but later back out of it which is why Bret decided to sign with WCW. If Vince never backed out of the deal then he wouldn't of signed with WCW in the first place.

My post was kind of simple and not deep by any means, but I was just assuming that him not getting screwed meant that his role in the WWE was fine instead of all of the politics happening.

As far as which gimmicks would I change in TNA and WWE I'll have to go with the following...

Dump the Daniel Bryan Ladies Man gimmick. Just have him as a badass submission specialist. Have him use multiple submission holds to win matches. I don't even think he needs a gimmicky name...he just beats people in ways most people do not beat people.

Robert Rhoode would get a new gimmick. I would immediately split him and James Storm up and have him go on his own. Beer Money Inc is the best tag team in the world minus MCMG but it's about time he got his chance to go solo. As far as his gimmick? I Wouldn't change much to be honest. He'd kind of be like JBL was in the WWE. He's an asshole who loves his money and talks a big game and backs it up in the ring...

My question...

What if Chris Benoit didn't call himself, his wife and his son? What if that didn't happen...would there be a Wellness Policy?
