What political party are you and why? Also are you more authoritarian or libertarian?

I am to young anyways to really to be either or, but if i had to choose I would probably be more independent.

  2. I would consider myself to be a liberal, with some socialist in me.

I am libertarian and socialist, but vote Democratic. I liked the leftist party stances of the UK Labour party of the 70's.
  4. I normally vote democrat, but sadly Kerry was a complete dumbass so I voted for Bush who I thought was the lesser of two evils, but boy was I wrong.

Kerry's main problem was that he didn't talk like a leftist (emphasizing his military service, and not having a different idea about Iraq). I guess that I might not vote democratic if the candidate isn't leftist at all. I'd probably not vote in an election like 2004, because the two candidates were too similar and I don't want either.

To be completely fair, poll above needs to be revised to delete "Authoritarian" from Republican choice or selection....

I have been a lifelong member of the GOP and strict conservative; voted Republican in most elections except one (which I missed due to military). I contribute lots of $ to local Republican Party and help out in local elections. I have nothing but praise for GOP, and am proud that they now control House, Senate, Executive Office, and many state Governor offices.

I was completely fair in the first place by putting both political parties with both authoritarian and libertarian. What wouldn't be fair would me do only put Democratic/Libertarian and not put Democratic/Authoritarian and visa-versa (and the same for the republican).

I never really fit one category or the other. Depending on the issues, I've been called Democratic and Republican. It all depends, so I guess my vote is independant (or moderate).
  9. I am a strong Democrat with socialistic beliefs as far as the regulation of corporations go. I believe in personal autonomy and social freedom highly. I dislike almost anything that has the word “ban†as far as it relates to the general populous. I also believe in the protection of the proletariat from the larger more powerful corporations, something that is not done enough.

    I voted: Democratic/Libertarian.

The poll is badly done, but eh. Good enough.

    My brain is in pain.

WTF factor for this thread is reaching phenomenal levels.

But your ability to see mistakes in action is redeeming in my view. Not that my view matters. :)

    As for my own thoughts:
The ideology of "Social Democracy" for the win.
Economic power must be controlled to ensure freedom and well being, as surely as political power must be controlled to preserve freedom and well being.
Government can be a very good thing. It worries me deeply that the authortarian GOP movement has progressed so far. We are so very close to fascism I honestly wonder what my plan should be if it gets worse. I also wonder if democracy in America has failed.
