Obama's gangsta government

It should be quite apparent by now that Obama and his administration are in the business of crony capitalism and favoritism towards those who support his radical agenda to destroy America. Here is yet another example:
Obama skirts rule of law to reward pals, punish foes | Michael Barone | Politics | Washington Examiner

So my question for all those that think this is OK is: how are you going to feel when a far right administration ignores the constitution and uses government to punish political opponents and reward supporters?

The funny thing is, those were the exact claims made against the Bush administration. That they usurped the Constitution, gave favor to political supporters, and punished opponents. Now that we have a President who has a (D) after his name, "he's just trying to help out the poor folk". It's what I always say, most oftentimes, people see what they want to see.

Unfortunately this guy is taking it to new extremes. I object to all of this kind of crap, no matter which faction of the ruling class does it. Too bad that many find it acceptable when their "side" does it. I wish they would all come around and recognize the benefit of limited government.

Was it acceptable when your "side" did it? How are you going to feel when a far right administration ignores the Constitution?

There are plenty on the left who do not support Obama's actions just because he has a (D) after his name.

One more thing, not to be splitting hairs, but you've accused Obama of being a Socialist, and now you're accusing him of crony Capitalism.

The difference is, whether I agreed with going into Iraq or not, I didn't find his actions unconstitutional. Despite popular belief, habeas corpus was not done away with, and enemy combatants, especially those obtained on a battle field, do not enjoy Constitutional protections. The argument that they do is specious at best. I will agree the wiretapping SEEMED to push the envelope, but there hasn't been much evidence out there to conclude either way. Yet all I ever read in the newspapers and listened to on TV, was that he was usurping the Constitution. All I'm wondering is where are those same people, who made those claims, now.

I know a lot of people on the left don't support him even though he has a (D) after his name. I'm referring to however those especially in the media, who do. The same people who put Abu Ghraib on the front page of their newspaper for 48 days straight, yet support THIS unconstitutional act. All I'm asking for them is consistency, something they always fail to be.

@ Jeanie: My "side" is the country class. So yes I have a problem with the unconstitutional expansion of federal powers regardless if the ruling class has a R or a D.

And yes, something socialism and crony capitalism have in common: centralized power with the ability to pick favorites and punish opponents.

It's always funny how the same stupid political activities happen regardless of which team the current president sides with. Of course they support people that agree with them. It's how the US political scene has worked for at least a hundred years. Is it right? No, but you'd have to be deaf and blind to not see it at play. It's also a huge waste of time to sit here and talk about it dozens of times during each presidential term? Republicans will support republicans and those who support the republican agenda. Now take the previous sentence and replace "republican" with liberal/democrat/conservative/libertarian/moron and you've still got truth. For me this is always funny when the other side acts all offended and surprised that this is going on. To me it borders on insanity by the classic definition (repeating the same actions and expecting different results).

The better question is why? Why is it so accepted and expected that politicians will do the most the can to favor their friends and give them all the breaks while alienating everyone else? In these modern days, you could say because politics have simply become more of a circus than they ever have been. There is no such thing as civilized or educated debate and candidates wear sponsorship patches shamelessly like drunk NASCAR drivers. Politicians only side with their buddies because it's the only way to make sure their lunacy lives on. Those that propose compromise are called 'weak' or 'left/right centric' which is just a lovely, passive way to call them traitors.

I think we all need to grow up and stop pretending like this is new or that one side is more guilty of it (or that it's some attempt to destroy America).

Also, we all know you could have picked a better or more creative word in the title but you had to go with gangsta. Interesting.

All the labels you listed could be more accurately summarized by one: "ruling class".

maybe because when someone speaks out about it they are greeted with something along the lines of "It's always funny how the same stupid political activities happen regardless of which team the current president sides with. I think some need to grow up and realize that Obama is more guilty of this than any other president in recent history and that he does intend to fundamentally change (destroy) America just like he has said on many occasions, his association would indicate, and is evidenced by his actions.

Also, we all know you could have picked a better or more creative word in the title but you had to go with gangsta. Interesting.
Why are you bringing this up? Is it because I'm black? Is u some kind of racialist?

I personally get the feeling there's more to the story than this short opinion-piece lets on. All the same, this whole business about, "why is everyone ignoring this?!" is something the left did all throughout the Bush administration. Usually, the this which is allegedly being ignored, is an unsubstantiated hit job that only loses all meaning and substance when the full story comes to light. Other times, nothing is being ignored, but people who only pay attention to hyper-partisan news sources wouldn't know one way or another. I see that a lot with conspiracy theory stuff, where something is made out to be a huge groundbreaking revelation, and yet was covered extensively by a wide variety of media outlets; had anyone of been paying attention to it when it wasn't being cast in the context given by those with particular agendas.

As it is, I just looked up the Boeing thing, and it has been covered extensively. A quick Google search gives you tons of articles on it from a ton of sources. They do happen to say though that:

Solomon [the labor board’s top lawyer] on Tuesday denied his action was motivated politically. He said Boeing and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, which filed the complaint against the firm’s S.C. plant last year, will have their views heard by an administrative law judge next month in Seattle.

You're not "speaking out". You're drinking conservative kool-aid, there's a big difference (one requires thinking for yourself and the other is for lazy people). My statement was opinion (duh) but I think pretty reasonable considering how lazy the American political standard has become.

I think some need to grow up and realize that Obama is more guilty of this than any other president in recent history and that he does intend to fundamentally change (destroy) America just like he has said on many occasions, his association would indicate, and is evidenced by his actions.
You're certainly allowed to believe what you want but I'm sure you were laughing when the left was calling George Bush the exact same things. I'd like to see you argue that because we both know I'm right. Personally, I'd like to know why each president the past 20 years or so, the other side has been hellbent on proving why that president is the worst of all time. It's like being in kindergarten.

I also think it's funny that to you, change = destruction. The stereotype proves itself everyday. A little challenge, please give me a link to where Obama says "I'm going to destroy America" without interjecting your own opinion or framework. As a bonus, I'd like to see you find it on any other site than www.obamaissecretlyanevilnazidragonzombie.com or a similar site.

Why are you bringing this up? Is it because I'm black? Is u some kind of racialist?
No, it's just an amusing observation, your choice of word. I was going to resist mentioning it since you would just ejaculate capital letters all over the place but I think it's something to consider when reading your opinions of him. It's always important to consider how a man thinks and speaks about others when debating such a topic in my opinion.
