Bristol Neighbours Unhappy With Porn Movie Business Next Door: Protest Outside James Edwards House | UK News | Sky News

James Edwards, who lives on The Coppice in Bristol, runs a porn movie studio from his premises.
Locals believe living next door to a blue film set is a "disgraceful situation" and have demonstrated outside Mr Edwards' house.
"Everyone is angry, we pay high rates in this area and expect some support from the authorities," resident Zena Robbins said.
"This is a nice area we chose to live in but it is no longer a happy community."

Two years ago Mr Edwards signed an 'acceptable behaviour contract' - a voluntary agreement made between someone involved in anti-social behaviour and the police - after it was claimed "pornographic activities" were taking place in his front garden.
South Gloucestershire Council said there were no breaches of that six-month agreement and police said there was no evidence of any criminal activity since.
And an Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "We believe the occupier is legitimately running a pornographic recording studio."
These people have no right to harass this man. What he does behind closed doors is none of their business, and he's running a legitimate business, that's perfectly legal.

I mean when one resident says "Everyone is angry, we pay high rates in this area and expect some support from the authorities". What exactly do they expect the authorities to do?

If one of your neighbours was filming pornographic films in their house, would it bother you? If yes, would it be to the extent to protest outside their house?

It's up to him what he does in his time. He's not hurting them in any way.
I don't care what my neighbour does, it's up to them, it's there home.

He's doing it in his house and not bothering anyone. As long as he's not doing outdoor scenes that others can see, who cares? Would they rather a druglord lived there?

I wouldn't mind one bit. Everybody has to make a living some how. Besides sex sells I myself have been looking into investing in a few successful porn sites to make a tidy profit from.

I think those who are protesting are idiots.

All im seeing is the shallow simple minded complaints of a neighbours with nothing better to do with their time...

A similar situation is happening out where my uncle lives...the local council have been debating whether to establish a Rehab clinic out there...

This clinic would be isolated and fair away from the local community...but the locals are in a up raw about it...with visions of drug-os walking down the main street off there tits...when they fail to realise that the Rehab facility is there to prevent that...

It wouldn't bother me. If it's all legitimate then I don't see the problem. Provided there was no late night wall-banging, audible moans/screams/grunts, etc, I don't think it would be particularly bad. :-/
