seems like most people here use AIM, but AIM sucks so I'm on a campaign to get people to switch to YM.

Not that I'm a huge fan of Yahoo in general, but here are the benefits of YM:

you can receive messages even when you're offline
photosharing
better smileys than AIM
and the better smileys don't explode into the message window when you use them
you can see what your friends are listening too if they're listening to music through Yahoo
if you have Yahoo mail, you get a pop-up when you receive an email if you're logged in to YM

if I have to resort to bribery to get people to switch, I will. :D

Who cares? Smileys are for tweenaged girls who type lYk dIs.

So can I with AIM . . . it's called typing.

if you have Yahoo mail, you get a pop-up when you receive an email if you're logged in to YM
And if you have AOL e-mail, you also get a pop up.

if I have to resort to bribery to get people to switch, I will.
Judging by the number of sex starved users on this site, I'd say bribery is a bad idea.

No, but you're running a true campaign here . . . by lying to the general.

I read this thread and said, "Okay, is she going to be able to convince me?" My question was soon answered because of the failure to utilize actual facts.

I'm not going to let you convince people to switch over to an inferior messaging service through these inaccuracies. That's all really. It has nothing to do with me being right, it has to do with people getting the facts.
