This is the 2nd card of the remove from play theme that has the potential to be the new metagame.



This is a continuous trap card with the following effect:

You can Special Summon 1 "Helios - The Primordial Sun" from your hand or deck. While this card is on the field, any card set to the Graveyard is removed from play instead.

At first look you think that special summoning Helios is part of the activation, but the key word is "can." You do not need to bring out Helios to activate this. And what makes this better then yesterday's Dimensional Fusion is that it sends ALL cards to the removed play area: Monsters, Magics, and Traps are gone. This makes cards like searchers and recursion totally useless.

Plus this card has its own Dark Hole; Grand Convergence; that is Quickplay and does 300 burn damage. So you can have Torrential Tribute plus Grand Convergence in duplicates making for massive field removal and if you run DD Survivor and DD Scout Plane in multiples then you'll have constant field advantage.

The draw back is its a Trap and is victim to Jinzo, Decree, Mobius and the obvious others. So any deck revolving around this needs plenty of protection cards.

All in all, like Dimensional Fissure, this can be the new metagame.

And to go along with this nasty trap comes a Quick-play magic card call Grand Convergence.



You can only activate this card while "Macro Cosmos" is on your side of the field. Inflict 300 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points and destroy all monsters on the field.

This a quick Dark Hole that adds 300 burn when activated. However it requires Macro Cosmos on the field in order to be used. So outside of a deck with Macro Cosmos it is utterly useless. I leave a rating out simply because of my prior statement.
