Liberals are more fearless

That isn't an opinion, it's scientific fact. The study cited is paltry small (46 Nebraskan test subjects), but it's the second such one I've seen with the same results.

From nature.com:

The Great Beyond: The physiology of personal politics

Conservatives may take comfort in the article's final paragraph; it seems that we mid- to left-leaners might need your more cautious input in order to achieve the best balanced political outcomes. Huzzah for the (more or less) two-party system!

Comments, lulzes, indignant refutations?

When one’s political foes make what seem like absurd statements or foolish decisions, maybe they’re not actually stupid or crazy. Maybe they just see the world differently

Well this doesn't surprise me one bit to be honest. I mean the way I was raised it makes perfect sense.

And dont take anything I say beyond this line as fact, this is just the political ramblings of the Goat.

-----Line of Speculation-----

Liberals are more Utilitarian and support a form of State Socialism that encourages the Gov't to sugar coat their world. Which might lead to a more comfortable or seemingly safe outlook to the environment around them.

Conservatives on the other hand are more of a Laissez-Faire "Leave us be, Let us Do" or "Hands off" approach to the government. Thus feeling a need to completely fend for themselves. A sort of fear that around every corner there is someone trying to steal their freedoms or dollar.

-----End of Speculation------

makes sense to me, whether or not its the truth I dunno.

I dunno, Ice. I disagree with the sugar coating bit. I think the world around me can be a pretty scary place - for example I'm terrified that I'm going to get sick and end up in debt for the rest of my life (or worse) because I have no health insurance.

I wonder about conservatives' need to completely fend for themselves. Humans would never have made it as a species if we hadn't cooperated with one another. As far as the stealing freedoms and dollars bit, those are both social constructs. What is "freedom" when it comes right down to it?

That's simply not true, I don't support 'state socialism', I support market social democracy. Redefine your view of liberals.

In my own experiences, the tougher crowd and the one that is more likely not only to stand their ground but go on the offensive are the right-wingers. I've definitely known more passive left-wingers than any others.
