XBOX Original LEGO Star Wars II Help

My son is trying to pass chapter 3 of episode IV. There are a couple of problems.

1. How do you open the doors that are for a bounty hunter or storm trooper? I found the disguise setting which puts glasses and a stash on the character, but it doesn't help.
2. When you enters the restaurant where Han Solo and Chewy are you lose R2 and C3PO, which are needed to open a couple of the doors in the area behind the restaurant.

Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated. I obviously don't think they way the game does.
