NEW YORK, Nov. 20, 2006 -- The Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James and the Dallas’ Mavericks Dirk Nowitzki today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Nov. 13 through Sunday, Nov. 19.James averaged 29.5 points on .513 shooting, while posting 5.8 assists and 6.3 rebounds per game to lead the Cavs to a 3-1 week and a tie atop the standings in the Eastern Conference. James’ week included a 37-point, nine-rebound and six-assist performance in a game against Minnesota on Nov. 17. James led or tied for the team lead in scoring in all four games during the week. Nowitzki led the Mavs to a 3-0 record, averaging 27.0 points on .462 shooting and 11.0 rebounds. Nowitzki recorded a double-double in all three games. Nowitzki also led the team in scoring in all three games and in eight of the nine games he has played in this season. In addition, he attempted 10-plus free throws in all three games.
