We are going to upgrade our server to a new hardware as it's running out of space. The problem is that we have thousands of shared folders with their different permissions and we want to keep them all intact. Whats the best way to do this?

I find that having a portable hard-drive is useful in this situation. Just copying everything onto it and then copying the files back should work.
