Ive Been thinking

#1
A question has been on my mind for a few weeks now and ive searched and searched but i cant find a direct answer to my question. So i thought id turn to the good ol' internet to help me. All right i recently finished a book where a man had split personalities one was evil one was good and there were parts where all 3 of the people ( the Man who actually existed, the evil conscience and the good conscience) were all talking together at one time and the man thought that they were actual people. He had dreamt up both of these other peoples lives because before they found out at the end that they were actually figments they had friends, family and memories. This whole situation is very troubling to me because i too have a person i talk to in my head but i don't think that she is actually real but,if i started to believe she was real would she be at least to me? i know this probably makes no sense to anyone and im having trouble putting my thoughts down, im not getting much sleep but can anyone help me on this i would greatly appreciate it

Regards. Scarab

Hmm, that's very interesting. The book you mention reminds me of the movie Identity (2003).

As for your situation, I definitely am not qualified to give you advice one way or another, but why not go see a psychologist? The split personality syndrome that you mention seems to be something that comes up enough that a good psychologist would be able to help you through it.

Now that might be expensive too. Otherwise what are your concerns of having split personalities? Do you think it's not "split" yet and you don't want it to? From what you've said it sounds like the book got you thinking at least, and at least you recognize that this "person" you talk to might not be real. Searching for answers is always better thane settling for false truth.

Im not really quite sure maybe i want the other person to be real? its really wierd. the other person ( by the way its a girl and no im not a shut in i have many friends) helps me. since ive started talking to her more shes been helping me study and ive been getting better grades. I will come to a question on a test that i have no i dea what it is and just ask her if she knows. she usually does! so im not sure if i should want this or not. im afraid i might loose the holds of reality is my biggest worry really. and if this person isnt real does this mean other things i think are real are not?

You need to talk to a professional as soon as possible. And I'm not saying that with any malicious intent. At all.

You're showing early signs of disorganized schizophrenia. When you talk to the person inside of your head are actually a delusion, even if you only see it as a way of coping. The voice in your head should be speaking in first person, as you are you, and your inner monologue is actually you talking to yourself, just inside of your head. You're talking to someone that doesn't exist, and by admitting that you see it as a separate girl you're acknowledging that they exist.

I said it's probably paranoid schizophrenia because you seem to speak in abstracts and you seem to have a serious lack of emotional response. Both are strong signs for this form of schizophrenia. Also, the fact that you know this person exists all but kills any chance of it being split personality disorder.

Now, I need to add this disclaimer. I am not a Psychologist. I in no way am diagnosing, finding a way to treat, or otherwise acting as such. I fully recommend that you go see a licensed psychologist, as they will be able to fully diagnose you.

Yeah, that's just you being retarded. I think it's hilarious that you've named your sides in an effort to further gain an extra identity, and I'll bet you have a lot of problems behind that.

Anyway, you don't have a split personality. With Multiple Personality Disorder, you wouldn't necessarily know one, or several of the personalities existed and you'd lose very large chunks of time. It's possible for them to know of each other, though, just not likely.

When you say "talk" do you mean out loud or through thoughts, like in your head.

Also, do you actually see this person? If so you could be hallucinating as well.
