In terms of political identification, what does the term 'independent' mean to you?

Seriously. I think Independents tend to be people who aren't comfortable picking a label and trying to fit themselves within its confines of it. So, they branch off from traditional labels and become one that requires people to actually ask them where they stand on issues rather than assume based on the preconceived notions of what each of the two main parties believe because that's what they want: political individualism.
