If you were the friend who photographed Phelps

Would you sell a picture of your friend doing drugs to a tabloid for millions?

Whoever took the picture of Michael Phelps doing marijuana last week made a ton of money when they sold it to the tabloid. (Whether or not it was sold, I would assume it was and that they made quite a bit of cash).

Put this into perspective and decide what you would do in that situation. If your best friend was a big time athlete and you took a picture of him or her doing illegal drugs, would you sell the picture to a tabloid for millions of dollars knowing full well that it would likely damage his or her career?

Absolutely not. What kind of friend would damage someone's career for money? Friends are way more important than money. Now if it was someone who was a dick to me, then yeah, I'd sell the photograph.

This is a great topic by the way.

It would be a tough situation, if it wasnt a close friend of mine, and I only saw him maybe once or twice a month, I would probably sell in to the tabloids.

But if it's someone that I am really close to I wouldn't of sold the picture. I would of probably deleted the next day after I realised I took it. Because I would tell myself, this could cause a lot of problems.

I would never sell the pic, actually the pic is a still frame taken from a video that was made during the party.

I would never sell out a friend no mater how much money was offered.

If I were to do such a thing, then I wouldn't be a friend.
I can't believe the amount of celebrities that get caught.

A golden rule is to only partake when trusted friends are there... the type of friends that will know what will happen if they betray you.
The second rule is, while it might be okay to have the camera phones out for a laugh... as soon as one is pointed in your direction while you are up to a certain activity, then it's party over for the person with the camera, after the camera has been inspected.

    No. Definitely not.
My friends are far too important for me. While the money would be good, I would feel some major guilt afterwards. It wouldn't be worth it seeing my good friend broken to pieces after that.
    Money isn't everything after all.

I would not sell it. That's like stabbing a friend in the back because of all the damage it is going to do.

They should be aware that using drugs in the first place will ruin their lives and careers either way.

Obviously we differ in our beliefs regarding trust relationships between human beings. Just because the guy in this hypothetical is a 'friend' means almost nothing. Friends screw each other over on a daily basis. It's about finding the quality ones rather than the "buddies".
