I found a recipe where I had all the needed ingredients at the house already, so I didn't have to go out and buy more stuff. So I try out making a sweet and sour sauce for my rice dinner. First time I ever made a sauce. It was great! I could not believe how much it tasted a lot like the sweet and sour at local chinese restaurants. But, the thing was, it had a "fuller", more bodied taste. Less watery taste, really. I was SO dang proud of myself! And I didn't burn or scorch the sauce, like I feared I could do. I can't be more proud of myself tonight.
