in short, adding 4 rubber pads will prevent the disc from hitting the laser.

Pretty cool. Too bad it ruins the warranty. Course, all you have to do is NOT move the system while it has a disk in it. It's not that hard. Plus, the tilt of the system doesn't really matter, all that matter is that it plays the game, so why even play horizontal at all if it's dangerous?
