Much about Santa Claus's journey to millions of homes on Christmas Eve remains a mystery for both children and adults, though a joint effort of the US and Canadian militaries has made it part of its mission to provide some answers about how the big night unfolds.

Kind of funny how this whole thing was started by accident. In 1955 Sears and Roebuck accidentally gave kids NORAD's hotline number, meant to report an impending attack by the Soviets, to call to ask about Santa's journey. Of course the first call didn't go well, not in the beginning anyway.

Merry Christmas!
