I know I don't post in this section very often, but I do read the threads, well some of them. I was thinking this could be an interesting thread. What are your favorite and hardest games you've played for every console you've tried. Could be game gear or dreamcast. Doesn't matter, just name your favorite and hardest games.

hmmm. I don't really have a mental list of the hardest, but I'll list my favorites.

    NES - Bubble Bobble
    SNES - Out to Lunch
Sega Genesis - Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
    N64 - Donkey Kong 64
    PS2 - Kingdom Hearts
    DS - Cake Mania (lol)
xbox - Need for Speed: Underground 2
360 - Halo 3/GOW2/L4D (ok that one was hard to choose just one)

I have a Gamecube as well, but I don't really have a favorite for it. I should just get rid of that one.

Most difficult game I have completed was probably Ninja Gaiden for the original Xbox.

Next was probably Ninja Gaiden 2 for the 360.

Mass Effect on Max difficulty is pretty hard. And I found Halo 2 on Legendary very cheap and frustrating since the snipers don't miss shots.

    Ninja Gaiden though wins hands-down.

    NES: Super Mario Bros. 3
    SNES: Contra: Alien Wars
    PS: Breath of Fire III
    N64: Goldeneye on Hard
PS2: StarOcean: Till The End of Time (Universe mode)

    Might have to go with Goldeneye as the winner 'cuz I was never good at micromanaging my character. Just go in guns blazing... and die. -_-;

Demon's Souls on PS3 is so hard that it's not even fun anymore.

Devil May Cry 3 on PS2 is another top contender.

Also, how is Halo hard? The game itself is extremely easy. Being good at the online portion is not really what I'd imagine this thread was about.

Please take into account that I play most games on the hardest difficulty:

PS3 -- Dead Space is a bitch, mostly because ammo is so scarce. My current point in the game, I have maybe 9 shots for my gun with approximately 8-11 enemies to kill, each foe requiring a minimum of 3 shots to take it down. You do the math.

XBOX 360 -- campaign wise I'll say Left 4 Dead because on Expert it's damn near impossible on single player.

XBOX -- Ghost Master, simply for the fact that I didn't understand the game.

PS2 -- none really stand out.

NES -- Punchout, because one of the enemies was completely unbeatable unless you had pinpoint timing, and by pinpoint I mean with a microscopic margin for error.

    Legendary difficulty is a killer.

Well if you play it on Normal or Easy its isn't challenging at all.

But I play the Campaign's on Heroic (Not really that hard but I dies a few times per level).

What I am referring to it on Legendary difficulty. Halo 2 was absolutely ridiculous on Legendary. So ridiculous it stopped becoming fun and was incredibly annoying. Snipers didn't miss shots so you would round a corner get sniped and you would have to figure out the trajectory of the shot to try to kill him before you got sniped on you next life.

Halo 1 and Halo 3 didnt have this issue on Legendary difficulty. Halo 1 didnt because AI couldnt carry snipers. And in Halo 3 they fixed it so that the snipers aren't super accurate and appear less frequently.
