Which spelling of this word do you use? I can never decide on one.

Gray us supposed to be the American spelling and Grey is the English spelling.

It's easy to remember though. American Gray has an A in it, English Grey has an E in it.

Does anybody else ever get confused by this?

Yep. That's how you spell it. :D

But no, I never get confused by it.

Looks like you were always confused by it then. Technically you've been spelling it "wrong" all your life. ;)

And Echoes, odd thing is that both of them look right to me. I see them both all the time.

Honestly I think it depends on how I'm using the word.

When its more in reference to the color itself I'll spell it Gray. As in that building has a light gray tone to it.

When I'm using it more as a figure of speech or expression I will type it out Grey. As in... "there are always shades of grey"

Funny though because my firefox underlines grey as a misspelling.

I've used both. I actually have to right the word a lot during my factory job in quality control. They won't let me put it as gray it has grey even though as I can see here the spell checker is yelling at me.

It also underlines colour as being wrong. Despite most of Europe and many other countries spell it that way
