    New York Daily News -
Steve Francis may have played his last game for the Knicks this season, and perhaps forever, the New York Daily News is reporting.

The veteran guard sat out last night's game with recurring pain in his right knee and admitted that he could be finished for the season.

"I don't know," Francis said. "I don't want to say something that isn't there, but I'm not sure. I'm not (ruling that out). I've just got to be smart. I can't really make a decision in one day."

The uncertainty of Francis' status comes just days after the Knicks were unable to move Francis before Thursday's trading deadline.

When Francis left the team for four weeks earlier this season to rehab in Houston, he and the Knicks had talks about a potential buyout. There is a chance that those talks could resume.

Francis hasn't played since being benched for the second half of Wednesday's loss in Philadelphia. "I guess that was the way the game was going," he said. "When I was out there, we were up, but when I came out, we were down. That's when the lead kind of went a different way. I wasn't that mad."

When asked about his frustration level, Francis said: "What's it called, the terrorist alert, when they say the security alert is like orange? That's what my frustration is now."

Kinda sad to see where his career's headed right now. I personally have always liked Francis over Marbury but obviously Marbury's performance has been better plus Francis has injury issues (funny, they were born only a day apart, both are 30 now). I don't disagree with this potential move but I hope that Francis can get his career back on track somewhere else.

Since day 1 I said that this combom won't work. It's official that Steve Francis is out for the season. I am pretty sure the same can be said that he's done as a New York Knick. I am sure he'll jump start is career somewhere else. He just needs to find the right team, and coach to motivate him.

  5. Francis is very talented, but he is cancer. He had some issues in Orlando, and I guess his stay in Newyork is almost done. In a earlier interview Francis said publicly that he wanted to become a rocket before the tade deadline occured.

He just has no sense of professionalism. He pouted when he was drafted by Vancouver(Now memphis Grizzlies). He pouted when Cutino Mobley was traded. I hope he stays far away from my team, the Lakers (we are in need of a true PG badly).

Yeah he is probably is done with the knicks. He has serious talent but bad basketball IQ.. which is why he is what he is now. If he atleast had a brain like kidd.. he would be one of the bests in the league right now.

I agree that Francis is probably done with the Knicks. But I truly believe that he isn't done playing basketball. He'll find a team that wants him and one that he can contribute better to. He's a great ball player but like everybody here said, he got a real bad attitude and hopefully, this future move will set him straight.
  8. Francis has talent. I don't see why NY would ditch him. He was decent when he played for Prlando, and I don't see why he can't continue that type of play.
