Discuss "Forbidden" Websites

Do you like to visit any websites others would consider 'forbidden'? For obvious reasons I will not link anything, but sites like 4chan and such, do you enjoy browsing some of the 'trashier' parts of the net? Personally, anything taboo usually catches my attention so I find myself on a few of these sites here and there. Nothing illegal or horrifying (well, you could argue that for the random section on 4chan, /b/) but for some reason, I can't stay away.

And yes, you can call a porn site 'forbidden', I'm sure a few of us enjoy surfing them too.

I don't mind searching through the "forbidden" web once and a while. It's good to get an idea of the darker side of humanity. /b/ can be good for a laugh.

Nobody else?

I'm not talking illegal pornography or anything, just unfiltered websites. Some other chans are fun to surf but so many of them seem to be crawling with so much questionable shit that I find myself straying further away these days.

I still check 4chan for the hell of it. There's some funny/dark/questionable shit on there. I'm not a sensitive person at all so I don't mind seeing some of the more socially unacceptable stuff from time to time.

I'm shocked that no one on GF has managed to find the dark web. There's tons of sites out there that you can't reach through a search engine or traditional means.

Forbidden websites? Well there's this site I go to called GeneralForum.com, that's pretty trashy ;).

In all seriousness, I tend to stay away from sites such as 4chan, I just don't find entertainment value there. I tend to stay generally on the same websites from day to day and use websites that I find to be reliable. The only time I'll ever really venture off from my usual routine is when I'll search Google for something.

I've never really had an interest in the dark web. There's good reasoning behind that too.

I have to agree that there's good reasoning behind staying away from the dark web. Anything and everything that you find there is illegal.

RIP Tor and .onion.

I used .onion with Tor back when it was a thing. A lot of the extremes I've seen on the web I saw there, as 90% of the stuff wouldn't be found elsewhere, and it probably messed me up a little bit. I read and saw some really interesting stuff too. A lot of Syrian rebels had used it as did others hiding from oppressive governments and such.

4chan is just absolutely boring. It's filled with closed minded people that lack the ability to readily come up with their own humor or anything, I used to scroll it various sections and realized I was wasting my time by doing so, there was nothing to learn from or laugh at there.

I'm not really understanding what the "dark web" is supposed to be. Are these websites that you can't find unless you're in the know or something? And I thought you could pretty much see the worst of things on the "conventional web" already? Or am I mistaken about that?

I still browse 4chan for the traditional games section. That section of the site isn't without its problems, but I enjoy quite a few of the roleplaying discussions, quest threads, and random ongoing stories. I also look at the retro video games section every now and again, the flash section, and other sections I'd rather not admit to visiting.

I checked out the Tor hidden net at one point, just to see how it actually worked. Nothing more than that, though.

You're right in that you can't find them unless you know about them. The dark web, as I understand it, refers to the hidden services and websites under the Tor network. There's no search browser for these services, so you can only visit them if you can find their .onion addresses. Some are available through some kind of wiki which is easy enough to find, but a lot of places that have highly illegal content prefer to only give out their addresses to people they trust.

As for the seeing the worst of things, the dark net is quite often used to hide child porn. So, unless there's a place on the regular web where you can easily see child porn, then dark net has worse.

I stay away from these kinds of sites. I used to belong to the Playboy Club but I didn't renew my subscription years ago. That was pretty much it as far as those kinds of sites. I don't visit any of them.
