You guys know about this one... Whenever anyone posts a YouTube video, if they don't edit out the "http://" part of the link address, the link doesn't work and all text under the link is linked to nowhere also. It's an infuriating glitch. Almost every time I want to see a video someone has posted I need to quote the post and cut and paste the link into my browser. Argh! I don't have this problem on any other site, so someone it seems gibbled this function and on behalf of all those annoyed by it I am asking if it can please be ungibbled.

... Pretty please.

P.S. Also, would it be any trouble to get some [color] up in this joint?

If you go to settings there is an option under Miscellaneous Options called Colorize your posts? You should be able to change your color there. I'm not sure if it works cause I've never used it. Haha

I know the YouTube thing is messed up where all of the text below the video becomes a link, but I'm not sure what you're referring to specifically. Do you see an embedded video in the following thread?

The issue is with https links from YouTube. If you edit out the s and make it http (as opposed to https) when you post it then it will work just fine.

Yeah but not everyone knows to take this step for their YouTube links to work right, so I'm still stuck most of the time quoting and copying the stupid links to my browser. Can this issue not be traced and fixed once and for all? I'm not an expert with vBulletin but it seems to me that it shouldn't be extremely hard to ferret this problem out. It seems like it's a nesting issue in the link address. As to why the text below gets added to the link, that one is a bit weirder and might be harder to sniff out. I reckon the closing BB code [/url] is being ignored when the glitch is triggered.

The address that was dumped to my browser when "https://" was used in my (Latest Random Thoughts Thread) YouTube link was this "http://www.generalforum.com/redirect-to/?redirect=https%3A%2F%2F%3Cobject+width%3D". I reckon there's a typo there somewhere. The end bit of code isn't parsed.

@Major: The vid in http://www.generalforum.com/size-universe-111806.html works fine but only because the link excludes the "https://" (I assume... I can't quote the post to be sure). Regarding the color thing, I was referring to activation of the [color=]/[/color] BB code.

I'm not exactly sure about the color codes, but I would guess they're disabled because they have a tendency to annoy people by making things harder to read.
