What is your favourite album ever? Or if that's too difficult, your top 10 favourite albums?

It's pretty impossible for me to pick just one favourite, but a top 10 is more doable. If I had to give up every other CD ever i'd be quite happy to listen these ones forever. In no order either, because I couldn't pick which I like above others.

Rise Against - Siren Song of the Counter Culture

Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals

Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold

Alkaline Trio - From Here to Infirmary

Disturbed - The Sickness

My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge

Papa Roach - Infest

Joe Budden - Mood Muzik 4: A Turn 4 The Worst

Lamb of God - Sacrament

Pendulum - Hold Your Colour

Honourable mentions to Children of Bodom - Relentless, Reckless, Forever, Five Finger Death Punch - The Way of the Fist, Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory and Eminem - The Eminem Show because it was hard to choose the 10 above over these.

I'm like you Lauren, way too many to just pick one. And the ones I choose I won't even be able to put in order.

So here are 10 albums I love (not in order).

The Lion King Soundtrack

WALL-E Soundtrack

Takk... by Sigur Rós

You Are Free by Cat Power

Discovery by Daft Punk

Yes, Virginia by The Dresden Dolls

Finding Nemo Soundtrack

The Immaculate Collection by Madonna

Shepherd Moons by Enya

The Libertines by The Libertines

Okay, narrowing it down to 10 was officially the hardest thing ever!!! I need at least...60

Great thread.

I can't give you an all time favorite album... but I can give you a top 10, in no particular order.

Here it is...

Death Is Certain - Royce Da 5' 9"

Mood Muzik 4: A Turn 4 The Worst - Joe Budden

The Marshall Mather LP - Eminem

Blacktrash: The Autobiography of Kirk Jones - Sticky Fingaz

Chronic 2001 - Dr. Dre

Restless - Xzibit

Slaughterhouse - Slaughterhouse

Wanna Snuggle? - Apathy

Revolutionary Vol. 2 - Immortal Technique

Phobia - Breaking Benjamin

One of those doesn't fit in with the others.

I recommend all of the albums to anyone who has similar taste in music, especially Lauren. Although she's probably already hear them all already, except for maybe two.

Honorable mentions:

The Eminem Show - Eminem
The Illusion of Progress - Staind
Leave a Whisper - Shinedown
Escape Route - Joe Budden
Shut 'Em Down - Onyx
Billy Talent II - Billy Talent
A Hangover You Don't Deserve - Bowling For Soup

Holy smokes... This exercise should be filed under "Feats of Strength!"

I decided to just use my iTunes to see which 10 albums I've listened to the most, and, it goes something like this:

Black Mountain "Black Mountain":

Sample song: YouTube - "Druganaut" by BLACK MOUNTAIN

Common "Finding Forever":

Sample song: YouTube - Common - Misunderstood (KR video)

Etta James, "The Essential Etta James":

Sample song: YouTube - Etta James - Something's Got A Hold On Me

The Pixies, "Surfer Rosa":

Sample song: YouTube - Cactus - Pixies

Black Keys, "Chulahoma: The Songs of Junior Kimbrough":

Sample song: YouTube - "Have Mercy on Me" by The Black Keys

Lupe Fiasco, "Food & Liquor":

Sample song: YouTube - Lupe Fiasco - Hurt Me Soul

Led Zeppelin, "Led Zeppelin I":

YouTube - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You-Led Zeppelin

Yeah Yeah Yeahs, "Fever to Tell":

Sample song: YouTube - Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Date With The Night"

Tricky, "Blowback":

Sample song: YouTube - Diss Never (Dig Up We History) - Tricky

Nina Simone, "Pastel Blues":

Sample song: YouTube - Nina Simone - Be My Husband

Whew! These are in no particular order, and, to be honest, if I had just sat down with pen and paper, I'm not sure how many of these albums woulda made it onto my Top 10 list, though this is a pretty good sampling of where my heart lies, musically....
