ST. LOUIS (June 8, 2006) -- St. Louis running back Marshall Faulk won't be taking part in this weekend's minicamp as he recovers from offseason surgery on both knees, the Rams said.

A representative for Faulk told the Rams he is unable to practice and has been undergoing rehabilitation in California. His condition is being evaluated.

Faulk considered retiring after rushing for a career-low 292 yards last year.

He made his only start last year in the final game. He has 12,279 career yards rushing, 34 behind Jim Brown for eighth place in NFL history.

If he doesn't retire before this season, this will probably be his last year in the NFL. Although I don't see him getting a lot of carries for the Rams this year anyway.
